Editorial requirements

I Editorial requirements and formal organization for authors of „International Journal of Slavic Studies Transgressive, Pragmatic and Speculative Horizons of Popular Literature”:

  1. The original version of the journal is electronic version.
  2. Texts in electronic version saved on digital media are to be sent by e-mail to the address of national secretaries or editors with the name of „International Journal of Slavic Studies Transgressive, Pragmatic and Speculative Horizons of Popular Literature”.
  3. Article should include an abstract, key words and should be based on clear structure that includes the following elements: indication of the actuality of analyzed subject and its importance for scientific discourse, clearly formulated justification of the aims of the paper and indication of its connections with scientific areas and beyond in scientific pragmatics. The content should be understandable for people who are not specialists in a given branch of knowledge and should include the analysis of the sources used in the creation of this article. The main part of the article should include the description of the methodology used in order to describe the subject of research and analyses presented in the article.
    The results of analyses should be described taking into account their scientific novelty and should be presented together with other analogical examinations. The main part of the article should be divided into subchapters with explanatory titles. The final part of the article should include the presentation of the conclusions received during the analyses made by the author and should indicate its further possible uses. If necessary, the limits of use of the received results should be indicated.
  4. Abstract should reveal the mail idea of the article and its characteristics, desirable is the use of the following verbs and expressions: is being considered, is presented, is assumed, is proposed, is used, it becomes proved, the methods are used, ideas, theories, points of view are supported or proved, the overview is presented, the results are presented, the results are considered, taken into account, the analysis is presented, is proposed, the conclusions were drawn, the concept was presented, the theory was presented.
    The structure of the abstract:
    • The actuality of the problem, the state of research, the indication of the subject of research (background);
    • Empirical basis (materials) and/or research methods (materials and/or methods);
    • Results
    • Conclusion
  5. Texts which do not conform to indicated standards will be sent back to authors with the invitation to adjust them to the standards of the Journal within 14 days. Not adjusting the article to these standards means resignation from the review process and from the publication.
  6. Texts which are accepted for publication will be sent to national secretaries in order to complete the review procedure. After completing and verification of the final content of the file that should be prepared by the author (see: point 19), the national secretary will send the file with the article and all attachments to editorial office.
  7. Texts which are planned to be published in a given year should be sent to the 30th of June of the previous year.
  8. The Editorial Office does not send back not ordered texts in paper form.
  9. We accept texts in all Slavic languages and in others, like: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian.
  10. In case of texts written in Cyrillic all footnotes should be given in Latin alphabet, the same refers to bibliography.
  11. Regardless of the language of the original, it is necessary to attach to the article (up to 600 signs with spaces) title, abstract, key words and affiliation in English language.
  12. Text should be sent in the format of Word document or text RTF. Maximum text size: a) article – 25 000 signs with spaces; b) review – 5 400 signs with spaces. Texts exceeding this limit will be accepted only with the consent of the Editorial Office.
  13. All articles published in the journal „International Journal of Slavic Studies Transgressive, Pragmatic and Speculative Horizons of Popular Literature” are reviewed (double-blind process). Detailed information about the review process is in the folders “Reviewers” and “For authors”.
  14. The Journal uses the procedures preventing ghostwriting practices and guest authorship.
  15. Sending text to the Editorial Office by author is synonymous with the statement that the author is in a possession of copyrights for this text, that the text is free from legal defects and that it was not published in the whole or in parts, and that it has not been presented to publication in the Editorial Offices of other journals, and it is synonymous with granting free consent to the publication of the text in the „International Journal of Slavic Studies Transgressive, Pragmatic and Speculative Horizons of Popular Literature”, and, as far as the time and territory is concerned, also free consent to its unlimited dissemination, including free sharing of its copies in internet.
  16. The legal consequences of scientific dishonesty (plagiarism, unauthorized citations, ghostwriting, guest authorship) are faced by authors.
  17. Article is accepted for publication on the condition of receiving positive reviews. Authors are obliged to take into account the comments and advices of the reviewers. The Editorial Office has rights to not accept the article for printing in the case of plagiarism or auto plagiarism, ghostwriting and guest authorship.
  18. The Editorial Office has rights to publish received articles at the most convenient time from the Office’s point of view.
  19. Authors are obliged to make author’s correction on their own and they take the responsibility for the final shape of the texts. Author’s correction should not introduce elements that substantially change the original content of the text.
  20. Publisher reserves the right to making editorial corrections of the texts.
  21. Authors are not granted royalties for their articles.

 II  Together with the article an author must send:

  1. Affiliation and individual ORCID code.
  2. Short biographical note about the author (basic information, max. 500 signs).
  3. Key words (up to 6) in language of the article and in English.
  4. Voluminous abstract (up to 1500 signs with spaces) in English with the title of the article.
  5. Bibliography which should be ordered alphabetically (in agreement with surnames of the authors) and formed into a list (also internet sources, e-books, electronic sources may be included). It may also include filmography, ludography, discography etc., with full names of authors, presenters, producers, creators, translators, editors, authors of introductions and afterwords – if they are mentioned in bibliography or if they document citations.

  7. Private contact details or places of affiliation.
  8. Actual e-mail address.
  9. A written statement about the copyrights of the article and the agreement for the use of contact details and other information necessary to journal indexing in scientific bases (you may load it beneath).

Publishing Instruction

  1. Text of the article should not exceed 25 000 signs with spaces of normalized typescript (with illustrations), should be written in Microsoft Word (*doc or *docx).
  2. The main text: (font: Times New Roman, size: 12 points, leading 1,5 points, margins 25 mm); justified.
  3. The main title: Times New Roman, 18 points (in bold).
  4. Possible subtitles: should be written in font 1 point bigger, in bold.
  5. Footnotes should be placed at the bottom of page with cited text, not at the end of the article: Times New Roman 10 points.
  6. Automatic hyphenation: using not automatic, “hand-made” hyphenation and “hand-made” division and breaking lines is forbidden. We also ask for not using “hard”, not dividing, spaces.
  7. Abstract in English language and in the language of the article – up to 1500 signs with spaces.
  8. Tables must have titles and information about sources.
  9. Illustrative materials (photographies, graphics, diagrams etc.) should be saved in separate graphic files (in format tiff or jpg, dpi resolution) and appropriately described. In the main text we ask for marking their localization.
  10. Writing of citation in antiqua in quotation marks (not in italics).
  11. Writing of dates according to the rules: 25 October 2008, in October 2008 (the full names of the Months)
  12. The pause should be used without space, f.ex. 1945–1989.
  13. Footnotes and bibliography should be prepared according to Chicago style.

Footnotes

  1. Times New Roman 10 points, leading 1.
  2. Footnotes are placed at the bottom of the page, on the same page of the quoted sentence.
  3. The format of the footnotes: Name and Surname, Title of the source, (the place of the publication and publisher, date of edition), number of page (without “s” or “str.”).
  4. Reference to the footnote is placed before punctuation mark.

Bibliography

  1. Times New Roman 12 points, leading 1,5.
  2. Title “Bibliography” should be in bold.
  3. Lines of sources are placed in alphabetical order.
  4. Bibliography is placed at the very end of the whole text.
  5. The format of bibliography: Surname of the author, Name. Title of the book. Place of publishing: Publisher, date of publishing, f.ex. Klemensiewicz, Zenon. Historia języka polskiego. Warszawa: PWN, 2002.
